Retail Network
Murco’s retail objectives have remained the same since the company was first established. They are to provide forecourt customers with high levels of customer service and satisfaction and to enable Murco contract managers and dealers to develop and grow their businesses profitably.
Progressive Shop Development
It was back in the 1970’s when Murco introduced the ‘ShopStop’ shopping format onto its company owned stations. Customers were happy to purchase newspapers, confectionery and cigarettes and contract managers had an additional revenue stream.
The development of ‘ShopStop’ continued into the 1990’s, but it was an alliance with the Costcutter Supermarket Group in 1996 that has resulted in the major growth of the ‘shopping experience’ on Murco forecourts.
This successful alliance provides customers with an exceptional product range, top name brands at great prices, ongoing value promotions and a shopping environment to match any of the multiples.
Today Costcutter is present on over 70% of the company owned stations in either a full supermarket format or in the smaller ‘Express’ format.
As well as providing customers with a convenient shopping experience and good quality, competitively priced fuels, Murco is also anxious to develop additional forecourt services like jet and roll-over car washes and cash machines.
Flexibility for Dealers
Our dealer network is also important to the development of the Murco brand.
In addition to the reliable and flexible fuel supplies, Murco offers one of the most flexible dealer agreements in the marketplace.
We currently have some 250 dealers with an active, ongoing recruitment plan.
